SSC examinee electrocuted in Chuadanga

An SSC examinee was electrocuted in Alamdanga Upazila of Chuadanga on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Jubayer Hossain, 16, son of Hafizul Islam, a resident of Bogadi Village under Bhangbaria Union in the upazila. He participated in the SSC examinations from Bhogail-Bogadi Secondary School this year.

According to local and the deceased’s family sources, Jubayer came into contact with live electricity at around 12:30pm while touching a metal grill at his house, which left him critically injured.

Sensing the matter, the family members rescued him and rushed him to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared the boy dead.

Dr Afrina Islam, an emergency department physician at Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, said the teenager had died before being taken to the hospital.
