2 SSC examinees go missing while bathing in Padma River

Two Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinees went missing while taking bath in the Padma River at Alinagar Ghat in Sadar upazila of Chapainawabganj district on Tuesday.

The victims were identified as Russell, 15, son of Almas, and Rifat, 16, son of Jeme, of Sundarpur area in the upazila.

Ekramul Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Model Police Station, said the two boys, along with several friends, went to the Padma River for a bath around 12:30 pm.

At one stage, Russell and Rifat slipped and went missing.

On information, divers from local Fire Service and Civil Defense rushed in and conducted a search operation to rescue them, said OC Ekramul.
