Leading steel manufacturer KSRM has donated advanced medical equipment worth nearly Tk2 crore to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH), aiming to strengthen the hospital's diagnostic and critical care services and improve treatment for thousands of patients.

The medical equipment was formally handed over at a ceremony held at the hospital's conference room recently. KSRM Deputy Managing Director Selim Uddin handed over the equipment to Additional Secretary (Budget) of the Ministry of Health Arif Ahmed and CMCH Director Brig Gen Mohammad Taslim Uddin.

The donation includes four hemodialysis machines, four state-of-the-art real-time 4D ultrasound machines and a GE Color Doppler imaging system. Hospital authorities said the equipment will significantly enhance diagnostic, emergency and critical care services, particularly for patients requiring advanced medical treatment.

Speaking at the ceremony, Additional Secretary Arif Ahmed said the budget allocated for the 2,200-bed CMCH is often insufficient to meet the growing demand for healthcare services. As a result, many underprivileged patients struggle to access proper treatment. He said KSRM's contribution would greatly benefit patients by strengthening the hospital's service capacity and urged other corporate groups to come forward with similar initiatives.

CMCH Director Brig Gen Mohammad Taslim Uddin praised KSRM for its longstanding support to the hospital, saying the company has consistently stood beside the institution during times of need. He said the newly donated equipment would help save the lives of critically ill patients while improving access to quality healthcare at affordable costs.

Representing KSRM, Director (Sales and Marketing) Jasim Uddin reaffirmed the company's commitment to corporate social responsibility, saying serving people has always been one of KSRM's core values and that the company will continue supporting initiatives that contribute to public welfare.

Among others, KSRM Director Jasim Uddin, Deputy Director Dr Ilias Chowdhury, Assistant Director Dr Kazi Saiful Alam, Dr Deb Prasad Chakraborty, Dr Ruma Bhattacharya, KSRM Deputy General Manager Wahiduzzaman, Media Adviser Mizanul Islam, Corporate Physician Dr Mezbah Uddin, Dr Junaid Ahmed, Brand Coordinator Moniruzzaman Riyad, and senior officials from KSRM and Chattogram Medical College Hospital attended the ceremony.
