Agricultural incentives have been distributed free of cost in Kaptai Upazila of Rangamati District and Lalmohan Upazila of Bhola District.
KAPTAI, RANGAMATI: The Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) distributed seeds to 400 marginal farmers aimed at cultivating Ufshi transplanted Aman paddy in the Kharif-2 season of the 2025-26 fiscal year on Wednesday.
Kaptai Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Raihanul Islam inaugurated the programme on the Upazila Agriculture Office premises. At that time, the government distributed 5 kg of Ufshi Aman paddy seeds, 10 kg of DAP and MOP fertilisers and agricultural inputs to the farmers free of cost.
Upazila Parishad former chairman Dildar Hossain, Upazila Agriculture Officer Ahsan Habib, sub-assistant agriculture officers of the Agriculture Department and beneficiaries were present on the occasion.
LALMOHAN, BHOLA: Lalmohan UNO Mohammad Sifat Bin Sadek inaugurated the distribution of various inputs including fertiliser, seeds and seedlings free of cost among 7,448 farmers under the incentive programme at the Upazila Farmers Training Centre on Tuesday morning, organised by the Upazila DAE.
In the 2025-2026 Kharif-2 season, each of 4,600 farmers from different unions of the upazila will receive 5 kg of Aman paddy seeds, 10 kg of DAP and 10 kg of MOP fertilisers under the programme. In addition, 1,098 farmers will receive 5 different types of seedlings each and 25 kg of organic fertiliser. With the aim of expanding hybrid pepper cultivation, each of 250 farmers will be given 10 grams of pepper seeds, 5 kg of DAP and 5 kg of MOP fertilisers and 100 ml of liquid pesticide. On the other hand, 1,500 farmers each will be provided with 7 types of vegetable seeds, 15 kg of DAP and 15 kg of MOP fertilisers to increase summer vegetable production.
