The government reshuffled the top administration of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), appointing Mohammad Monirul Islam, an additional secretary at the Ministry of Public Administration, as the commission's new director general (DG) on deputation.
The incumbent ACC DG, Md Motahar Hossain, has been transferred and appointed director general of the Department of Youth Development under the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The changes were announced through two separate notifications issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Wednesday.
According to the notifications, Monirul Islam will assume charge as director general of the ACC on deputation, while Motahar Hossain will take over as director general of the Department of Youth Development.
The government orders stated that the transfers had been made "in the public interest" and would take immediate effect.
The notifications also directed all relevant authorities, including the Cabinet Secretary, the Principal Secretary to the Chief Adviser and the ministries and divisions concerned, to take the necessary steps to implement the orders without delay.
