Pre-reg for 2027 Hajj begins

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued a directive making the submission of specific personal information and documents mandatory for Bangladeshi citizens seeking pre-registration for the 2027 Hajj.

The directive was issued on Wednesday (July 1) by the ministry's Hajj-1 Section, according to a press release issued on Thursday.

According to the notification, pre-registration is the first step in the Hajj process. Applicants must provide a National Identity Card (NID), or a Bangladeshi passport, or a birth certificate, along with a passport-sized photograph, an active mobile phone number, and a bank account number. Members of the same family may use a single shared bank account for the registration process.

The ministry said that maintaining a bank account is mandatory for all Hajj pilgrims, whether travelling under the government or private management system, to ensure secure, transparent, and orderly financial transactions related to Hajj.

The notification also instructed pilgrims who had previously completed pre-registration without providing bank account information to submit those details at the time of final registration.

Pre-registration for the 2027 Hajj officially began on July 1. In line with the roadmap announced by the Saudi authorities, the Hajj registration process must be completed by September 26 this year.
