Man lynched after being accused of snatching in N'ganj 

N’GANJ, July 5:  A 25-year-old man died after allegedly being beaten by a mob in Narayanganj's Fatullah on Saturday night after being branded a mugger, police and family members said.

The deceased, identified as Sijan, was the son of Yunus, also known as Innu Mia, of the Paschim Masdair area.

According to his father, a group of 30 to 40 youths, allegedly led by a local mosque imam, called Sijan out of his house around 8:00pm and took him to Masdair intersection.

He alleged that the group tied Sijan to an electric pole and beat him mercilessly. His right leg was allegedly broken during the assault. 

Sijan was taken to Khanpur Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Fatullah Model Police Station OC Mahbub Alam said police recovered the body and found injury marks on it.
