Foundation stone of Patuakhali Poura Bidyaniketon laid

PATUAKHALI, July 6: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Mohammad Shahid Hossain Chowdhury laid the foundation stone of the building and campus of the Patuakhali Poura Bidyaniketon under construction in the Housing Estate residential area of the town on Saturday morning as the chief guest. Prayers were offered at this time.

After the event, a view-exchange meeting was held with the Housing Estate authorities chaired by Patuakhali Municipality Administrator and Deputy Director (Deputy Secretary) of the Local Government Department Jewel Rana. Additional District Magistrate Md Tarek Hawlader, Chief Executive Officer of Patuakhali Municipality Abdul Qayyum, Municipal Executive Officer Masum Billah, District Education Officer Mojibur Rahman, Executive Engineer of Public Health Engineering Department Ashrafuzzaman, Executive Engineer of LGED Md Hossain Ali Mir, President of Patuakhali Press Club Md Zakir Hossain were present.

DC Dr Mohammad Shahid Hossain Chowdhury said that the housing estate is a planned residential area. This initiative of Patuakhali Municipality to ensure quality education for the children of the residents here is highly commendable. He said that not only teaching, but also various co-curricular activities including language and sports clubs should be started to develop the students as skilled, creative and ideal citizens.
