The Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) has issued show-cause notices to 112 private technical institutions for failing to admit students under the HSC (Business Management and Technology, BMT) curriculum for five consecutive years.

In a notice issued on Monday, the board asked the affected institutions to submit written explanations by 16 July on why their admission activities should not be suspended and their teaching approval cancelled or withdrawn from the 2027-28 academic year.

BTEB Inspector B M Aminul Islam signed the notice, which cited Rule 5.4 of the Private Technical Education Institution Establishment, Teaching and Recognition Policy 2020.
