The Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Chitalmari in Bagerhat, Khadija Akter, has earned praise after arranging immediate medical treatment for an ill Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC-BMT) examinee by sending her to hospital in the UNO's official vehicle.

The incident took place on Wednesday while the UNO was inspecting the HSC (BMT) examination at Sher-e-Bangla Degree College examination centre. During the inspection, Khadija Akter noticed through the centre's CCTV monitoring system that a female examinee was feeling unwell near the end of the examination.

She immediately went to the examination hall and instructed the physician on duty to provide emergency medical treatment to the student, identified as Aditi Biswas, a second-year BMT examinee. After receiving primary treatment, the UNO arranged for Assistant Professor Jesmin Khanam of the BMT department, who was on duty at the centre, to accompany the student to a nearby hospital in the UNO's official vehicle for further treatment.

Moinuddin Sheikh, officer-in-charge of the Sher-e-Bangla Degree College examination centre for the ongoing HSC examinations, praised the UNO's prompt and compassionate response. He said the timely medical assistance ensured that the student received the necessary treatment and has since recovered.
