Shehbaz Sharif mourns deaths caused by Bangladesh floods

Deep condolences were expressed regarding the loss of lives and extensive damage caused by severe flood and landslides in Bangladesh by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. 

He expressed his condolences in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Sunday.

In his post, Shehbaz Sharif said: 'Deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life and widespread devastation caused by the severe floods and landslides in Bangladesh.'

'On behalf of the people of Pakistan, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and express our unwavering solidarity with the government and people of Bangladesh. We pray for the swift recovery of the injured and the safety of all those affected.'

The latest flood situation update from the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief confirmed, Cox's Bazar district recorded the highest number of deaths from floods and landslides in the Chittagong division. At least 23 people died there.

Among the deceased, 13 were Rohingyas. Besides, eight people died in Chittagong district, six in Bandarban district, and two in Rangamati district.
