Ex-Somoy TV director Zobayer denied bail

 
A Dhaka court on Sunday denied bail to former Somoy Television director Ahmed Zobayer in a fraud and forgery case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Israt Jahan rejected Zobayer’s bail petition, his lawyer Farhad Hossain Niyon confirmed.

Zobayer surrendered before the court on June 18, when he was sent to jail by Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Zakir Hossain. On the same day, three co-accused, Ahmed Rafid Kader Rivu, Sheikh Mahmud Yasin and Sunny Chowdhury, were granted bail. The case was filed on May 10 by Syed Asaduzzaman, accusing six people, including Zobayer, of fraud, breach of trust and document forgery.
