Agricultural inputs were distributed among 610 small and marginal farmers in Kaptai, Rangamati, on Tuesday.
The distribution, held under the 2025-26 fiscal year's agricultural rehabilitation and tree plantation program, included tree saplings, organic fertilizers, bamboo stakes, lemon saplings, and summer vegetable seeds.
The Kaptai Upazila Department of Agricultural Extension organized the event. Kaptai Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Raihanul Islam inaugurated the National Fruit Fair and distributed the agricultural inputs at the local agriculture office premises at 11:00AM.
Speaking as the chief guest, UNO Raihanul Islam stated, ‘Following the tree plantation program inaugurated by the Honorable Prime Minister across the country, we are distributing tree saplings and agricultural materials to farmers today.’
The event was presided over by Kaptai Upazila Agriculture Officer Ahsan Habib. Former Kaptai Upazila Parishad Chairman Dildar Hossain attended the program as a special guest.
The president of the Kaptai Upazila Krishak Dal, Nurul Haque Bacha, along with field-level sub-assistant agriculture officers and local farmers, were also present.
Before the distribution, the guests officially inaugurated the National Fruit Fair and visited the various stalls.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Ahsan Habib provided details on the distribution. Under the 2025-26 fiscal year's rehabilitation plan, 410 farmers each received five tree saplings of various species, five bamboo stakes, and 40 kg of organic fertilizer.
Additionally, 200 other farmers received summer vegetable seeds, 15 kg of DAP fertilizer, 15 kg of MOP fertilizer, 30 lemon saplings, and 30 kg of organic fertilizer.
