Bangladesh Ambassador Holds Bilateral Meeting with Libyan Deputy PM

A bilateral meeting was held with the Deputy Prime Minister of Libya’s Government of National Unity, Engineer Salem Al-Zadma and Bangladesh Ambassador to Libya, Major General Md. Habib Ullah. The meeting took place on Sunday.

The two officials held productive discussions on matters of mutual interest and explored ways to strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two nations.

During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister described Bangladesh as an important and reliable partner for Libya. He praised the contribution of Bangladeshi expatriates working across various sectors in Libya.

He also expressed a strong desire to see more skilled Bangladeshi manpower participate in Libya's overall development, specifically in priority projects in the southern region.

The Libyan Deputy PM emphasized the need to expand trade, investment, and economic cooperation between the two countries. 

He also reiterated the Libyan government's commitment to preventing irregular migration while promoting regular and safe migration pathways.

Ambassador Habíb Ullah stressed the importance of diversifying and broadening the existing friendly relations through increased cooperation in various sectors. He sought the continued support of the Libyan government to ensure the security, rights, and welfare of Bangladeshi citizens working in the country.

The Ambassador specifically requested the Deputy Prime Minister's cooperation in swiftly settling the outstanding financial dues of Bangladeshi health workers who have returned home after completing their tenure in the Libyan healthcare sector.

The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing to maintain regular contact and continue their cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
