A young woman has been stabbed to death by her former husband at a house in the capital's Badda area.
The incident occurred approximately 8:45PM on Tuesday in Badda's DIT Road.
Deceased Jhumur Akter, 35, was rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where she was declared dead around 10:30PM.
Jumur came to his father's house at Badda from Patuakhali few days ago.
She and her former husband Rezaul locked into an altercation over phone. At one stage he called her on the ground floor of that house. When Jhumur went down, the duo again locked into fued which led to the death.
Then neighbours able to catch Rezaul and handed him over to Badda police.
The woman was declared dead after taken to the hospital.
Relatives said that Jhumur separated from her first husband a long time ago. She has a 12-year-old son from that marriage. Later, she fell in love with Rezaul and married him, but their marriage broke up after three years. After that, she married an expatriate and was living there. She also has a daughter from her third marriage.
