Although the prices of meat and broiler chicken in the capital's market are stable, the price of eggs has increased. They have increased by 10 taka per dozen in the space of a week. At the same time, buyers are not getting relief as the prices of most fish are also high. Beef is being sold at 800 taka per kilogram, and eggs are being sold at 135 taka per dozen.

This picture can be seen while visiting various raw food markets in the capital today, Friday (July 17).

A visit to the market shows that the price of eggs has increased compared to last week. A dozen farm eggs are being sold for 135 taka. Last week, it was 120 to 125 taka per dozen. A kilogram of beef is being sold for 750 to 800 taka. If you want to buy mutton, you will have to spend 1,100 to 1,200 taka per kilogram.

The prices of some fish have been seen to be quite high. Depending on the quality, shrimp is being sold at 600 to 900 taka per kg, pabda at 300 to 350, large rui at 400 to 450 and tangra at 600 taka. Bhetki is being sold at 400 to 550 taka, tilapia at 220 to 130 taka per kg, pangash at 200 to 220 taka, mrigal at 250 to 300 taka, bain at 600 to 800 taka, koi at 400 to 500 taka, poa at 260 taka and shoal at 700 taka. Hilsa is not to be touched. Hilsa weighing 800 to 900 grams is being sold at 2,000 to 2,200 taka per kg. Traders are selling one kilogram of hilsa at 2,300 to 2,400 taka. However, the prices of farmed koi, tilapia, pangash and medium-sized rui fish are somewhat normal. Farmed horn fish is being sold at 300 to 450 taka depending on the size. Medium-sized fish can be purchased for 300 to 350 taka. In addition, if you go to buy fish from Rupchanda, shoals, and river sands, you will have to pay more than a thousand taka.

On the other hand, in the chicken market, broiler chicken is being sold for 180 to 190 taka per kilogram and golden chicken is being sold for 330 taka.

A buyer named Ramiz Uddin from Rayerbazar said, "The price of fish is the same as before. We keep track of pangasius and tilapia fish. We can't afford to buy other fish. Pangasius is not even below 200 taka." He also said, "I went to the boiler chicken shop and saw that it is being sold at 185 taka per kg today. How can we eat if it is so expensive?"

Fish trader Mukul said, the price of fish in the market is different in the morning and afternoon. It goes down by 10 to 30 taka. There has been no major change in the price in the fish market for several months. According to him, the price of fish like shrimp, rupchanda, shoal and large-sized rui has always been relatively high. This is because these fish are mainly bought by buyers with higher purchasing power.

Egg trader Masum said that the price of eggs has increased by 10 taka per dozen compared to the previous year. A dozen white broiler eggs are being sold at 125 taka and brown eggs are being sold at 135 taka per dozen. Last week, it was 120 to 125 taka per dozen.
