4 East Bengal launches tree plantation drive in Khagrachhari

A sapling distribution program was held simultaneously across different areas of Dghinala upazila by 4 East Bengal of Bangladesh Army.

Dighinala Zone Deputy Commander Major Shihabun Sakib Rushad and Adjutant Captain Abdullah Al Azmi distributed the fruit and timber saplings at the Dighinala Zone Headquarters at 10AM on Sunday (July 19).

A total of 7,000 saplings were distributed from Dighinala Zone and 19,000 more were distributed from different sub-zones.

Kabakhali Union Parishad Chairman Knowledge Chakma, Boalkhali Union Parishad Chairman Chayan Bikash Chakma, and Dighinala Upazila BNP Mohila Dal General Secretary Mosa. Monowara Begum, among others, were present on the occasion.

The Army stated that the program was organized to maintain environmental balance, increase tree resources, and create interest among the general public in planting trees in the hilly region. All present praised the initiative and urged everyone to properly plant and care for the distributed saplings.
