Two Women Killed in CNG Auto-Rickshaw and bhotbhoti in Jamalpur
Two women were killed and three others were injured after a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a bhotbhoti in Melandah upazila of Jamalpur.
The accident took place at around 3:00PM on Sunday (19 July) on the Jamalpur to Dewanganj regional road in the Betmari area under Charbani Pakuria union.
The identities of the two women who died could not be confirmed immediately.
The injured were identified as Mojibor, 55, Jibon Mia, 35, and Tushar, 38, all from Katharbil area of Dewanganj upazila.
According to eyewitnesses, the CNG auto-rickshaw was travelling from Dewanganj to Jamalpur when it collided with the oncoming bhotbhoti. One woman died at the scene, while another died on the way to Jamalpur General Hospital.
ATM Mahmudul Haque, Officer-in-Charge of Melandah Police Station, confirmed the incident and said police are trying to identify the victims.
