11 testify against S Alam, PK Halder 

 
The testimony of 11 witnesses has been completed in a loan embezzlement case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) against S Alam Group Chairman Mohammad Saiful Alam, former banking official Prashanta Kumar (PK) Halder and 11 others.

On Sunday, Dhaka Special Judge’s Court-5, presided over by Judge Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun, recorded the testimony of Asadul Azad, assistant vice-president of First Security Islami Bank PLC.

Defence counsel Niaz Morshed completed the cross-examination of witness on behalf of detained accused Rashedul Haque, while the lawyer for another accused, Nahida Runai, sought more time for cross-examination. The court granted the request and fixed August 9 for the remaining cross-examination and the testimony of the investigating officer.
