Rashed Khan appointed political assistant to PM

BNP leader Rashed Khan has been appointed as the Political Assistant to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman with the rank of Secretary.

The appointment was confirmed on Sunday through a notification signed by Md Golam Rabbani, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, under the order of the President. 

According to the notification, Rashed Khan has been appointed on a contractual basis as the Prime Minister's Political Assistant with the rank of Secretary, effective from the date of joining. 

The appointment is subject to his relinquishing any other profession, business, or employment with any government, semi-government, private institution, or organization. His tenure will continue for the duration of the Prime Minister's term or until the Prime Minister decides otherwise, whichever comes first.

The notification added that the remaining terms and conditions of the appointment will be determined through a formal contract. It also stated that the order had been issued in the public interest.

On Monday (July 20), Rashed Khan shared the appointment notification on his Facebook account.

In his post, he wrote, ''Alhamdulillah, the Prime Minister has appointed me as his Political Assistant with the rank of Secretary.''
