Juba-league Joint General Secretary Nayeem Khan has been arrested during a drive in Madaripur Sadar upazila.
A raid was conducted by Police on Tuesday July 21 at Gulbahar Restaurant in the Ghatmajhi Union of Sadar upazila to apprehend him.
Police sources confirmed, Nayeem khan has several pending cases against him at the Madaripur Sadar Police Station. For this reason, he was taken into custody.
Confirming the arrest, Sub-Inspector (SI) Salman of Madaripur Sadar Police Station stated, ‘There are existing cases against him at the police station. He was arrested as he is a warrant-listed accused.’
Local sources revealed that Nayeem Khan allegedly led a protest procession on the occasion of the 77th founding anniversary of the Awami League, leading to his inclusion as an accused in a case filed over the incident.
Police confirmed that the arrested leader was produced before the court following completion of legal procedures.
