DU JCD activist denies harassing female fellow

 
A Dhaka University (DU) unit Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) activist denied allegations of harassing female students along with a wheelchair user.
On Tuesday, Md Asadullah Al Galib rejected the accusations after 3 students submitted a written complaint regarding a clash during Sunday night’s (July 19) World Cup final screening at Kabi Jasimuddin Hall field.

Formal complaint was jointly filed by three Dhaka University students from the 2021-22 session. The lead complainant is Jannati Adneem Oril, a student in the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies. The second signatory is Pushpita Chowdhury, a student in the Department of Women and Gender Studies, who is the wheelchair user. The third complainant is Md Reduanul Islam Prothit, also a student in the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies. Together, they submitted the written grievance to the university proctor Md Israfil Ratan detailing the alleged physical and verbal harassment, as well as the subsequent online threats they received.

They detailed how Galib allegedly pushed the wheelchair, hurled insults, and threatened physical violence against a male student. Group cited severe safety concerns after reportedly receiving subsequent threats on Facebook, attaching screenshots as evidence. These are secured by The Daily Observer.
