Senior journalist and CRAB member Abu Hena passes away

Executive committee member of the Bangladesh Crime Reporters Association (CRAB), Abu Hena Rasel has passed away. He died at 1:20PM on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases. He was 57. 

According to witnesses, Rasel went to refuel his motorbike at Talukdar Filling Station near Asad Gate in the capital on Wednesday. He suddenly felt sharp chest pain. Following it, locals rushed him to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, where he breathed his last.

His sudden demise cast a deep shadow of grief over the CRAB community. His funeral prayer (Namaz-e-Janaza) was scheduled for 4:15PM on Wednesday at the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) premises. 

CRAB President Mirza Mehdi Tamal and General Secretary MM Badshah, along with executive committee leaders, expressed profound grief and sorrow over his passing. They prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members. 

Abu Hena Russell was working as a special correspondent for Dainik Khabor Songjog. Previously, he served at prominent news outlets, including Dainik Bhorer Kagoj, Samakal, and Kaler Kantho. He held leadership positions in both DRU and CRAB, serving most recently as the primary executive member of the CRAB executive committee.
