Pregnant woman chopped dead at Singra

SINGRA, NATORE, July 22: A seven-month pregnant woman named Bulbuli Khatun, 21, was hacked to death by her husband Abdullah, 24, in Kunchibhadra Village of Dahiya Union in Singra Upazila of the district on Tuesday afternoon.

The local people caught the husband, a day-labourer and allegedly a drug-addict, and handed him over to the police. 

Police and locals sources said that Bulbuli Khatun gave her husband lunch. During an argument between the two over a trivial matter, the husband hacked her with a sharp weapon and injured her. Later, she died on the way to the hospital. 

Officer-in-Charge of Singra Police Station Rafiqul Islam said that the body was recovered and sent to morgue for an autopsy.
