8,000pc Yaba seized from pickup van in Brahmanbaria, driver flees

Police have recovered 8,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from a piuckup van during a drive in Bijaynagar upazila of Brahmanbaria. However, sensing the presence of police, the driver of the vehicle managed to escape.
Based on secret information, Bijaynagar Police Station sent a team under Aulia Bazar Investigation Center which conducted a raid on Wednesday, July 22 at 6:45AM in Kamalpur area under Paharpur Union.
During the drive, police intercepted a pickup van (Dhaka Metro-N 21-6817). Police said the driver fled during the drive, but 8,000 Yaba tablets and an Android mobile phone were recovered after searching the vehicle.
The recovered Yaba pills and mobile phone were seized through a legal process in the presence of witnesses.
Aulia Bazar Police Investigation Center Inspector Ahsanullah confirmed the incident. He said drives are ongoing to arrest the fugitive accused.
