Trader killed in Sirajganj road mishap

SIRAJGANJ, July 23: A fish trader was killed after being hit by a speeding truck in front of Nimgachhi fish stall in Raiganj Upazila of the district on Thursday morning.

The deceased Abu Bakkar, 45, was the son of Mohir Uddin of Aranggail Village in Tarash Upazila of the district. He had been trading fish in Nimgachhi Bazar for a long time.

Officer-in-Charge of Raiganj Police Station Ahsanuzzaman said that on his way to the market boarding a car after buying fish from Nimgachhi fish stall, Abu Bakkar got down from the car to pick up a pangash fish that fell from the car. 

Meanwhile, a speeding truck hit him from behind and he was killed on the spot. The driver fled, leaving the truck behind. After the accident, the deceased’s relatives recovered the body and took it home.
