Messi’s signed jersey, Shakira’s World Cup outfit up for charity auction

The 2026 FIFA World Cup may have ended with Spain lifting the trophy, but memories from the tournament are set to live on through a charity auction featuring some of the event’s most iconic items. More than 40 pieces of World Cup memorabilia including Lionel Messi’s signed jersey, Shakira’s performance outfit and official match items will be auctioned by Britain’s renowned Christie’s auction house.

The auction is being organised as part of the One Goal Charity Auction, a partnership between FIFA and Global Citizen. The collection includes artists’ stage outfits, autographed jerseys and official tournament equipment linked to the month-long football extravaganza in the United States.

Interestingly, the most expensive item so far is not directly related to football. The highest bid has been received for the jersey worn by BTS member Jimin during the World Cup final’s halftime show.

The official match ball used in the July 19 final has also been put up for auction with a starting price of $15,000. Christie’s expects the ball to be sold for nearly double that amount.

Among the football treasures on offer is a signed Argentina national team jersey from Lionel Messi. Colombian superstar Shakira has donated the outfit she wore during her halftime performance at the final, while gloves worn by legendary singer Madonna during her performance will also be auctioned.

The proceeds from the auction will go towards charitable initiatives under the One Goal campaign.
