
MORRELGANJ, BAGERHAT, July 25: Health Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Hossain, MP, made a surprise visit to Morrelganj Upazila Health Complex in the district on Saturday morning and inquired about the quality of service at the hospital, expired medicines, various irregularities in food quality, and the shortage of doctors.
He toured various departments of the hospital for two and a half hours. At that time, the health minister said, “The general public has elected us by voting. We have a responsibility to the people. A 101-bed hospital will be built in every upazila of the country.”
Deputy Commissioner Golam Md Baten, District Superintendent of Police Hassan Mohammad Nasser Rikabdar, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Habibullah, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Kamal Hossain Mufti, BNP leader Somnath Dey and various leaders at the local level were present during the inspection. Later, the minister visited a clinic adjacent to the hospital and found some discrepancies.
