Man held for killing parents in Ctg

A man has been detained after allegedly stabbing his father and mother to death in Chattogram’s Anwara Upazila.
The killings took place at East Gujra of Haildhar Union around 2:30pm on Saturday.

The victims were identified as Swapan Das Gupta, 65, and his wife Kalpana Das, 55.

Police detained their son Romi Das Gupta in connection with the incident.

Mahmudul Hasan, assistant superintendent of police for the Anwara Circle, told bdnews24.com: “The father and mother were stabbed to death by their son. We detained him upon receiving the information.”

“We have not yet had the opportunity to question him. We will be able to say more about why he killed his parents after the interrogation.”

The bodies are being sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for postmortem, and legal proceedings will be initiated, the officer said.­�"bdnews24
