Decomposed body of ticket collector recovered in Khulna

Police have recovered the decomposed body of a 50-year-old man named Moti in Khulna city.

The body was recovered around 11:30AM on Sunday from the fourth floor of a building adjacent to Khalil Chamber in the Shekhpara area under Sonadanga Police Station.

The deceased was the son of Habibullah of the area. He worked as a bus ticket collector.

According to police and local sources, the deceased lived as a tenant in the house of local resident Anowara adjacent to Khalil Chamber for the past 16 years.

He lived alone in a tin-shed room on the fourth floor of the building. He worked as a ticket collector for Gorai Paribahan. He was physically ill.

He was last seen on Thursday and was not spotted since. On Sunday morning, a worker went to the roof of the house and smelled a foul odor. After noticing the smell, the worker informed the house owner, who then notified the police.

In the presence of locals, police broke open the door and recovered Moti's body from inside the room.

SI Md. Faridur Reza of Sonadanga Model Police Station said police rushed to the spot after receiving the news. After preparing the inquest report, the body was sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Family members of the deceased have been informed.
