National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam said that the nation’s objectives would remain unfulfilled until the July Charter, state reforms and voting rights are secured, while Party’s Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari claimed that BNP is creating employment for Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal leaders only.

Speaking at a discussion titled "July Uprising: Revolution from Spark" at Jagannath University on Tuesday, Nahid said the movement had been driven by aspirations for democracy, state reform, voting rights, the elimination of discrimination and the establishment of an independent and sovereign state.

"The July Uprising is not a single political party. It is a collective movement of ordinary people, students and various political and social forces," he said.

Although the government had assumed office through elections, Nahid alleged that the public mandate in favour of reforms had not been implemented.
"The spirit of the movement will continue until the July Charter, state reform and voting rights are ensured," he added.
