Newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Khulna Agricultural University (KAU), Professor Dr. Md. Asaduzzaman Sarkar, officially assumed his duties on Tuesday.
Upon his arrival, teachers, students, officers, and employees of the university warmly welcomed him with floral greetings.
After taking charge, the Vice-Chancellor reviewed the administrative activities of the university and held an exchange of views with teachers, officers, and staff. He urged everyone to work together to accelerate academic, research, innovation, and administrative activities.
Professor Dr. Md. Asaduzzaman Sarkar stated that KAU holds great potential for higher education and research in agriculture. He expressed his commitment to enhancing educational quality, expanding international cooperation, promoting technology-driven agricultural education, and developing students into skilled human resources.
Professor Dr. Asaduzzaman Sarkar is a professor at the Department of Agricultural Extension Education at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU). He secured first class first position in his Master's degree in Agricultural Extension Education from BAU. He later obtained a second Master's degree in Agriculture from Yamaguchi University in Japan and a PhD in Bio-Production Science from Tottori University, Japan.
During his distinguished career, he served as Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Head of the Department of Agricultural Extension Education, and Director of the BAU Extension Center. He also worked as a Visiting Professor at Kyoto University in Japan and Yunnan Agricultural University in China, as well as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences in China.
Members of the university expressed optimism that under his leadership, experience, and foresight, Khulna Agricultural University will reach new heights in education, research, innovation, and international collaboration.
