SUST Proctor's office permits Patwari-Sarjis event on 3 conditions

The Proctor's Office given the permission on those conditions.

The discussion will be held at the university's Mini Auditorium at 12PM on Thursday (July 30).

According to leaders of Jatiya Chhatra Shakti, the organisation sought permission from the Proctor's Office to use the Mini Auditorium for a discussion and cultural programme titled 'Fiery July: The Debt of Blood and the Bangladesh of Tomorrow' to commemorate the July Mass Uprising. While granting permission, the university authorities attached three conditions.

The conditions are as follows:

●Political or ideological speeches will be permitted. However, in the interest of maintaining campus discipline, no false statements targeting any individual, group or political party may be made. If any false statement disrupts campus order, full responsibility will lie with the SUST unit of Jatiya Chhatra Shakti, and the university administration will not accept liability.

●If any individual, group or organisation responds to provocative remarks in a manner that disrupts peace and order on campus, the responsibility will rest solely with those involved.

●Three assistant proctors will remain on duty to oversee the overall security of the event.

Earlier, several leaders of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, the student wing of the BNP, criticised on social media the invitation extended to Nasiruddin Patwari to attend the programme as a guest.
