Three arrested in Bhola for robbing and molesting housewife

Three men were arrested in Lalmohan upazila of Bhola for holding a housewife hostage at knifepoint, robbing and molesting her.
The suspects were sent to court on Friday morning.
The victim filed a case at the local police station on Thursday; she is a resident of Ward two of Lalmohan Municipality.
Immediately after the case was filed, police conducted a drive and detained the three accused.
The arrestees were identified as Md. Shahadat Hossain, 24, Md. Zubayer, 21, and Md. Nayeem, 24. All three are residents of the Paschim Char Umed Union in the upazila.
According to locals, a housewife arrived at Gajaria Market in Lalmohan by CNG auto-rickshaw from Char Fasson on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 29. While returning, she boarded a battery-run auto-rickshaw.
When the vehicle reached Gajaria Noukapatti, the suspects intercepted it. Armed with local weapons, they boarded the auto-rickshaw and threatened her.
They forced the driver to take the vehicle to a secluded area near Sainik Bazar.
At knifepoint, the robbers snatched gold ornaments worth Tk 25,000, gold earrings worth Tk 50,000, and Tk 4,000 in cash from her bag. They also molested her before fleeing the scene.
Lalmohan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Oliul Islam said police raided the Gajaria area following the complaint and arrested the three men.
The stolen gold ornaments were also recovered during the operation.
The OC added that the three arrestees were produced before the court on Friday morning, while efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining suspects.
