Md Fazlul Hoque, a former president of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), on Sunday joined as the administrator of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).
According to an office order issued by the Ministry of Commerce on July 26, Fazlul Hoque was appointed as the administrator to ensure the continuity of the activities of the country's apex trade body and safeguard the interests of trade, commerce and industry, according to a message issued by the Ministry of Commerce on Sunday.
The appointment was made under Section 17 of the Trade Organizations Act, 2022, says BSS report.
As per the ministry's directive, the newly appointed administrator has been entrusted with conducting a fair, transparent and neutral election to the FBCCI within 120 days and handing over the responsibilities to the newly elected board.
