The Local Government Division has directed deputy commissioners (DCs) to ensure due state protocol for Zila Parishad administrators and chairmen at state functions, national days, government meetings and other protocol-related events.

A letter to this effect was sent to all district administrations on July 30 by the Zila Parishad Branch of the Local Government Division under the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives.

According to the letter, the Warrant of Precedence, 1986 (revised up to July 2020) must be strictly followed in seating arrangements, official correspondence, invitation cards, the order of names and other protocol-related matters to ensure the due status and honour of Zila Parishad administrators and chairmen.

All relevant officials and institutions have been asked to take necessary measures to properly implement the directive.
Copies of the letter were sent to 11 relevant offices, including the Cabinet Secretary, divisional commissioners, the secretary of the Local Government Division, police commissioners, Zila Parishad administrators and chairmen, and the private secretary to the Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives.

The directive, signed by Local Government Division Joint Secretary Khondkar Farhad Ahmed, said the initiative aims to ensure proper adherence to the state order of precedence at government functions and other protocol-related activities.
