Passenger held with 1.5kg gold at Ctg airport

Chattogram airport security has seized about 1.5 kg of gold, including gold paste and jewellery concealed inside a passenger’s underwear.

The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) said the passenger, identified as 33-year-old Mohammad Tusar, arrived at Chattogram’s Shah Amanat International Airport on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Dubai on Monday.

He was placed under surveillance based on intelligence information.

After the aircraft landed, the CIID coordinated a joint operation with officials from the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI), the National Security Intelligence (NSI) and Chattogram Customs House.-bdnews24
