Drug trader held with 1,620 Tapentadol pills in Kushtia

Police has arrested a drug dealer with 1,620pc of Tapentadol tablets during a special operation in Daulatpur upazila of Kushtia district.

A man named Raju Ahmed, 32, son of Alamgir Hossain from Jhautala village under Kumarkhali upazila in the district was detained during the operation.

Based on secret information, a special drive was conducted by the Daulatpur Police Station, under the supervision of Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Khaledur Rahman. They conducted a drive at Hisnapara area in Hosenabad village on Friday (August 7) around 8:30PM.

During the drive, police arrested Raju Ahmed and recovered 1,620 Tapentadol tablets from his possession.

Daulatpur Police Station OC Md Khaledur Rahman confirmed the arrest and said that the drive against drugs will continue.

He added that a case was filed against the arrestee under the Narcotics Control Act. The recovered drugs were seized, and the arrested person was sent to court on Saturday.
