Man held with 9,730 Yaba pills in Bagerhat

A team from RAB-6 elite force has arrested a drug dealer with 9,730 Yaba pills from Morelganj upazila in Bagerhat on Sunday (August 9).
The detainee was identified as Md Jahidur Islam alias Kalam, 37. He is the son of Ratan Howlader of Betmor (Rajpara) area in Mathbaria upazila of Pirojpur district.
Acting on a tip-off, an operational team of RAB-6 Special Company conducted a drive at Baraikhali area under Morelganj Police Station at around 4:20AM.
During the raid, the elite force arrested Jahidul and seized 9,730 Yaba pills from his possession in front of witnesses.
RAB sources said Jahidul has three previous drug cases pending against him with Teknaf Police Station in Cox's Bazar and Jatrabari Police Station in Dhaka.
A case under the Narcotics Control Act is being filed against him with Morelganj Police Station. He will be handed over to the police for further legal action.
