DB arrest woman with Yaba pills in Savar

Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka District North Police arrested a female drug peddler along with 40 Yaba tablets during a raid at Kanchanpur Bedepalli in Savar.
The arrestee was identified as Suraiya Islam alias Diana, 26, wife of Md Imon and daughter of Masud Rana, a resident of Kanchanpur Bedepalli.
Inspector Saidul Islam of Dhaka District North DB confirmed the matter through a press release on Sunday afternoon.
Earlier on Saturday night, a team of DB police conducted a special anti-narcotics drive in the Kanchanpur Bedepalli area under the direction of Dhaka District Superintendent of Police Shamima Parvin and apprehended Suraiya.
During the drive, police recovered 40 Yaba tablets weighing approximately 4 grams, with an estimated market value of Tk 12,000, from her possession.
Inspector Saidul Islam said a case under the Narcotics Control Act was filed with Savar Model Police Station in this connection. Suraiya was sent to court on Sunday afternoon.
