Two more people died of dengue across the country in the past 24 hours while 672 new patients were admitted to hospitals.
The figures were released in a statement issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday.
According to the statement, of the newly hospitalised patients between 8am am Saturday and 8am Sunday, 84 were admitted in Barishal Division, 88 in Chattogram, 267 in Dhaka, 140 in Khulna, 27 in Mymensingh, 57 in Rajshahi, five in Rangpur, and four in Sylhet Division.
So far this year, a total of 19,345 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country. DGHS said the nationwide dengue death toll has reached 61 this year. Of the total, seven deaths have been recorded so far this month.
