Trader killed in Chandpur in car accident

A 65-year-old trader has been killed after being hit by a private car in Faridganj, Chandpur, on Monday (August 10).

The deceased was identified as Abu Taher, a resident of Kasara area under Paikpara North Union. He had been running a business at Koraitoli Bazar for nearly five decades.

The accident occurred at around 7:00AM near Onua Chattar on the Chandpur-Lakshmipur regional road.

According to locals, Taher was cycling towards a petrol pump to buy fuel for his business when a private car heading towards Lakshmipur hit him and fled the scene.

He sustained critical injuries and died at the spot.

According to Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Faridganj Police Station Mohammad Ershad Ullah, A 65-year-old trader had been killed after being hit by a private car in Faridganj, Chandpur, on Monday morning.
