State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam held a meeting with Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan on Tuesday (August 11).
The meeting took place in Singapore.
Welcoming Shama Obaed Islam on her maiden visit to Singapore, Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan highlighted the long-standing partnership and close people-to-people ties between the two nations.
He noted that both sides discussed ways to further deepen mutual cooperation. The key areas included expanding trade and strengthening energy sector partnerships.
"We are also making good progress towards concluding a bilateral Free Trade Agreement, which will create new opportunities for businesses in both countries," Balakrishnan stated.
He also wished State Minister Shama Obaed a fruitful visit to Singapore.
