Motorcyclist killed as bus hits motorcycle in Naogaon

A motorcyclist was killed after a passenger bus hit his motorcycle in Patnitala upazila of Naogaon on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Shyamal Tigga, 40, son of Birsha Tigga of Raytara village under Akbarpur Union in the upazila. The accident occurred around 11:30am near the BGB camp on the Nazipur-Dhamoirhat regional road. According to locals, Shyamal was entering the main road from a side road on his motorcycle when a speeding passenger bus hit him. He was thrown onto the road and sustained critical injuries.

Local residents rescued him and took him to Patnitala Upazila Health Complex, where the attending physician declared him dead.

Patnitala Police Station Officer-in-Charge Niamul Haque said police were sent to the scene after receiving information about the accident. Legal proceedings are underway, and the body will be handed over to the family after completion of the legal procedures.
