JaPa greets Fakhrul on nomination for Presidency

Jatiya Party (JaPa-faction) Chairman Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud and Secretary General ABM Ruhul Amin Howlader congratulated BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his nomination for the presidency.
In a joint statement on Thursday, JaPa leaders described Fakhrul as a “dignified, elegant and wise political figure" who has established his position in Bangladeshi politics through his humility, measured speech, logical political stance and commitment to democratic values.
They also expressed gratitude to BNP Chairperson and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman for nominating Fakhrul for the country's highest constitutional office. They said the decision to nominate an experienced, "decent, clean and universally acceptable" political figure sent a positive message to the country's political arena.
JaPa leaders said, "Fakhrul is respected not only by BNP leaders and activists but also by people from different sections of society and leaders and activists of other political parties."
"Despite political differences, he has always set a positive example by maintaining personal respect and courtesy towards his opponents," the statement said.
They also highlighted Fakhrul's personal integrity and clean image, saying there had been no allegations of personal corruption or financial irregularities against him during his long political career.
According to the statement, Fakhrul has viewed politics not merely as a means of acquiring power but as a form of public service linked to people's rights, democracy and national interests.
