Rajshahi IHT to celebrate golden jubilee with grand programme

RAJSHAHI, Aug 15: The Rajshahi Institute of Health Technology (IHT) is set to celebrate its golden jubilee with a series of colourful programmes.

A committee has been formed to organise the celebration. Acting Principal of Rajshahi IHT Dr Md Mezba-ul-Hasan Khan has been appointed convener, former teacher Md Mahfuzul Haque joint convener, Medical Technologist (Radiotherapy) Mamunur Rashid Mamun member secretary and lecturer Kumar Ghosh senior joint member secretary of the committee.

Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) Administrator Md Mahfuzur Rahman Riton has been named chief patron.
The committee was announced at a meeting held at the IHT auditorium on Friday afternoon. Acting Principal Dr Md Mezba-ul-Hasan Khan chaired the programme.

Speaking as the chief guest, RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman said the IHT would be modernised to keep pace with global developments. He said the institution's hall room would be air-conditioned soon.

He also assured the authorities of taking steps to construct a boundary wall, renovate the pond, develop a playground, construct an academic building and build residential facilities for students.

Among others, Rajshahi Metropolitan Jubo Dal Convener Shariful Islam Jony, Rajshahi District Jubo Dal Member Secretary Rezaul Karim Tutul, IHT teachers Rashidul Hasan Russell, Mizanur Rahman Milon and Minhajul Islam, former student and teacher Abdur Rob Chowdhury Titu, pharmacist Saidur Rahman, IHT Chhatra Dal Convener Saddam Hossain, M-Tab President Zahurul Islam and Secretary Selim Reza spoke at the meeting.

Abdullah Al Mamun, Shah Kamal Shahid Sabuj, Mehedi Hasan, Rezaul Karim, Abdul Khalek, Abul Kashem Ashik and Momin, among others, were also present.

Principal of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Physical Education College Md Abdullah Al Mahmud Salam Biplob, teachers from different educational institutions and invited guests attended the programme.

Former IHT student leader Abdullah Al Mamun and lecturer Asim Kumar Ghosh jointly conducted the event.
