
PANCHAGARH, Aug 15: State Minister for Water Resources and President of the Panchagarh District Sadar Hospital Management Committee Farhad Hossain Azad, MP, said that health services will be improved in the district through collective efforts.
He said this as the chief guest in a meeting held with the Panchagarh District Sadar Hospital Management Committee and stakeholders at various levels on the hospital premises on Saturday.
Civil Surgeon Dr Mizanur Rahman chaired the meeting while District BNP Convener Zahirul Islam Kachchu, District Jamaat Ameer Professor Iqbal Hossain, and PP Mirza Nazmul Islam Kajal, among others, spoke at the programme.
At the meeting, NCP Chief Organiser (Northern Region) Sarjis Alam said, “There are no MRI and CT scan machines at the hospital where 40,000 people receive medical services every month.” He promised to work collectively to improve the quality of health services.
The stakeholders demanded that the 250-bed hospital be opened quickly with the necessary manpower and ensure the quality of healthcare.
Earlier in the meeting, the participants highlighted various problems and limitations of the hospital and provided various suggestions to further improve the quality of medical services. At this time, General Secretary of Panchagarh Press Club Sarkar Haider spoke.
The State Minister promised to improve the quality of health services in the district, forgetting differences of party, religion, and so on.
He said, “Syndicates will be eliminated. I’m calling on doctors and nurses to ensure equal service for all. New hospital buildings will be opened very soon.”
