Model Ridika found dead at home

Model Ridika Ridi has been found dead at her home in Dhaka's Bashundhara Residential Area.

She was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her bedroom on Saturday and was taken to Kurmitola General Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Bhatara Police chief Mazharul Islam said family members had taken her to the hospital.

“On learning of it, we went there, examined the body, and are now in the process of sending it for postmortem,” he said.

“We believe this to be suicide, but there could be instigation by someone else behind it, since family members have said she was on a video call with someone before the incident.”

He added that a case was being filed based on the family’s complaint.

Alongside modelling, Ridi appeared in several television  dramas, including “Ekhane Manush Bikri Hoy”, “Bohurupi”, “Double Honeymoon” and “Sundori”. �" bdnews24
