Assistant Attorney General Nurul Karim submitted his resignation letter on Sunday, citing personal reasons, just 17 days after his appointment.
In his resignation letter, Nurul Karim stated that he was appointed Assistant Attorney General on July 30, 2026, and had been performing his duties diligently ever since. However, he noted that he could no longer continue in the post due to personal reasons.
Earlier on July 30, the government appointed 86 Deputy Attorneys General (DAG) and 179 Assistant Attorneys General (AAG) to handle state cases, while cancelling all previous appointments at the Attorney General's office.
The Law and Justice Division's Solicitor Wing of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs issued separate notifications regarding the appointments by order of the President, signed by Solicitor Sana Md Mahroof Hossain.
