The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) fined a bakery named Ruchika Bakery Tk 40,000 on Monday for manufacturing cakes and honeycomb buns in unsanitary conditions in Noakhali's Dotterhat area.

During a special drive, officials caught workers mixing rotten eggs with good ones to make cakes, while other food items were being produced in filthy and unhygienic surroundings.

The DNCRP drive team seized and destroyed a massive quantity of rotten eggs alongside contaminated sugar syrup found inside the factory.

DNCRP District Official Md Asadul Islam stated that such drive operations will continue regularly to protect public interest and ensure safe, adulteration-free food.
